CiB launches new-style strategy awards

The 2008 Communication Strategy Awards has become the first CiB award programme to focus solely on internal communications.

Monday, 21th July 2008

Awards chairman Dave Morris explained: “Internal communications strategy has always dominated in this programme, and the past couple of years have seen the number of external classes gradually diminish. Going internal-only is the next natural step.

“The new focus gives greater scope to refine and expand the internal offering, ensuring the programme always reflects current communication practice.”

There are 12 classes of award this year, ranging from employee engagement, merger/change, internal event and global campaign, to those recognising the best agency/consultancy, internal communications team, and communications training programme.

Channel strategy is a completely new class for 2008. This recognises outstanding achievement in developing a fully integrated channel strategy, based on clearly researched and defined audience needs.

The entry deadline for the awards is Friday July 25.

Winners of Awards of Excellence will be notified in September and class winners will receive their prizes at the Communicator of the Year (COTY) lunch at the Park Lane Hotel in London on November 14.
